ABOUT THE AUTHOR

 Picture of Anthony Sharp

Anthony Sharp was educated at his local grammar school In London, and went up to Oxford as the Organ Scholar of Lincoln College, sharing tutorials with his contemporary and fellow Londoner, Dudley Moore, who had won The Organ Scholarship at Magdalen College.

While Dudley's career blossomed into great achievements, fame and fortune, Anthony's struggled for survival in a whirlpool of disappointment and self-inflicted disasters. There were a few compensations in the form of TV appearances and concert hall recitals on London's South Bank. Yet his unhappy stint as University Organist back at Oxford could hardly compare with the depravities of London night clubs where, from the piano stool, he could survey the antics of 'grown' men and women.

Little wonder, then, that he should one day enjoy writing humorous, highly individual paperbacks, and to hell with it all.

His first novel, ´THE´GUV´NOR', was published by Regency Press in London. There followed ´THE HOUSE OF BAGHDAD' and 'LIE BACK AND THINK OF ENGLAND', both published by Author House, USA. Then came 'NOW OR NEVER', a sequel to´The Guv'nor', involving not only Prince Charles but also President Barack Obama, Lewis Hamilton and Osama Bin Laden, a book perhaps to really set the cat amongst those proverbial pigeons. His fifth novel, ´TO MAMA WITH LOVE´, maintains the pressure, so to speak, for despite its balming quality of family life, emotions and drama within that family, together with outside concerns involving Heads of State and secret services, all contribute in keeping the reader on his or her toes. ANTHONY SHARP is hardly an author for anyone seeking a non-challenging comfort zone. He has now penned his autobiography, 'MY STEINWAY BLUES' tracing his achievements as well as his disappointments which all make for a most absorbing read.
