TO MAMA WITH LOVE
A SYNOPSIS
Amanda Davidson has her work cut out when she marries Carl, a handsome young businessman from Hamburg. Despite a possible link between his family and the infamous Heinrich Himmler of The Third Reich, Carl Himmler looks nothing like his wretched namesake. Nor does his philosophy of life bear any resemblance to that despicable dealer of death. Ironic then, that Carl's "profession" is to manufacture armaments, the job of which is to kill as well as defend. But Carl's family has long been associated with the Thyssen/Krupp empire which has continued to make fortunes from this cold, calculating trade. While governments come and go, the arms still flow.
For twelve happy years, the young Amanda Himmler brings up her two loving children, looks after her thriving Knightsbridge boutique, calms her ever-watchful Jewish Father across The Pond in New York, and nurtures her marriage with a rich, energetic but sensitive husband.
When a serious threat to Carl and the whole family presents itself, and Heads of State, police and secret services face a dilemma, fraught with danger, everyone's skills are put to the test.
But the world is hardly finished with Amanda who endures a monstrous attack upon her by a late addition to the family - a loathsome son called Peter. When her extraordinary strength of character and will to recover manifests itself, her elder son Adam completes the writing of his novel, and upon publication, presents a signed copy to her with the simple title words: “To Mama With Love.”
